Scope of Position The patient transporter is responsible for the transportation of patients and patient related equipment within the facility of MSHA. The patient transporter plays a very important role in setting high standards by cooperation, patience, communication, and willingness to work as a team with nursing and medical staff and all other hospital departments. The patient transporter must be committed to continuing education to upgrade skill. Regular exposure to communicable disease or injury is unavoidable. Education Experience A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Prefer some health care experience. Good written and verbal communication skills is necessary. Physical Requirements Employee must be able to cope well under emergency and/or stressful conditions. He/she must be physically able to lift, carry, bend, support heavy weights over 50 pounds, push and pull. He/she walks at a moderate to high pace continually. Close mental and visual attention required due to each patient condition variable. Good listening skills required. |
