Pay Grade: VA - 75 SCOPE OF POSITION To maintain a structured scheduling system and regulate interactions with patients, families, visitors, physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel. - Answer incoming phone calls promptly and deal with patient/doctor appropriately.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Maintain an accurate schedule and seek assistance when needed for clarification.
- Schedule and monitor any Imaging/Radiology procedure.
- Provide answers to routine questions according to department/area procedures.
- Research and acquire data to complete quality management projects as instructed.
- Log messages for staff.
- Direct calls when appropriate.
- Organize and supervise waiting room.
- Participate in economical utilization of supplies and ensure that equipment is maintained in working order.
- Perform other duties as requested by department director or assistant.
- Observes and reports deviation from procedure to assure compliance with safety and infection control policies and accurate patient identification.
- Enter patient demographic data in the hospital information system.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of insurance specifications and diagnosis requirements for each procedure.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A high school graduate with clerical training or experience. Interpersonal skills required. Possess moderate computer experience with exposure to medical terminology. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Moderate to occasional standing or walking. Able to lift, push or pull carts and equipment. |
