Scope of Position The RN - Clinical Educator is responsible for the planning, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of educational programs for the Adult Critical Care Division. Assists in providing guidance to nursing staff to assure that they practice within established standards, policies and procedures. The individual must be committed to providing superior levels of nursing care and maintaining high patient care standards. This position will demonstrate competency in the care of adult and geriatric cardiovascular, medical, surgical, and trauma patient population(s).
Teaching others and being an effective role model is an important part of professional practice. All team members are expected to participate in the education of others when requested to do so.
Education Experience The Clinical Educator is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice as a professional nurse in the appropriate state. A minimum of five years nursing experience in Adult Critical Care setting is preferred. Minimal education requirement is Baccalaureate; Masters degree is preferred.
Physical Requirements Ability to handle heavy materials or patients. Physical demands greater than moderate may require knowledge of use of appropriate equipment. Frequent bending, lifting, or pulling require use of good body mechanics. Often necessary to stand long periods of time. Requires close mental, visual, and auditory attention in all phases of patient care activities. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors displaying a smile and maintaining a pleasant attitude. Must be able to wear a respirator mask. |
