Scope of Position
Answer phones, input orders into computer, load paper into copier and fax machine, fixing copier and fax when jammed or experiencing technical problems, advising other floors how to put orders into computer, paging doctors for nurses, assign pagers, help answer call lights, clean and fill patient charts, stock alcoves, cook occasionally, order supplies for floor.
Access to patient information may be provided to perform the functions of this position; therefore the ability to maintain confidentiality is a requirement.
Education Experience
High school education is the only required. Some computer, typing, and phone skills are helpful. An even temperament is a must in dealing with all the personalities encountered.
Physical Requirements
Hearing, sight, and voice are the only actually essential physical requirements. It would be difficult but not impossible for a person with a walking handicap to perform the duties of this job because of the constant motion and reaching of shelves required. |
